Although I was entering my last term of high school, I decided to enrol since I knew I had to take this opportunity to improve on my essay and analytical writing skills to the best that I can, and I'm very happy I made that decision. I really enjoyed the flexibility of the masterclass, which allowed me to develop my ability to analyse texts leading up to the HSC exam, and also be flexible with my essay writing rather than purely relying on memorising essays, which I have been used to doing. I would highly recommend the masterclass without hesitation, to those feeling unconfident with essay writing and how to structure responses on the whole.

Before starting the masterclass, English was by far my weakest subject and I had never gotten a single A in it throughout high school. However, ever since I started the course in Year 10, I've consistently placed in the upper A range for my exams at school. Being more of a math person, I've found the formulaic and systematic approach this masterclass offers for analytical writing extremely helpful. Dodie has also been very useful in providing great-quality feedback and has helped me immensely in both my school assessments as well as developing my overall writing skills whenever I undertake a writing task. I highly recommend this course for anyone who wants to make English one of their strongest subjects.

I joined the masterclass before starting to study HSC English Advanced and it has helped me boost my confidence in class so much. The skills based approach was different but once giving it a try I started enjoying it a lot. As a mainly science based student I feel like I focused so much on content before the masterclass and completely skipping the fact that as well as knowing the content I also need the skills to be able to express it in a easy to understand way.

Having attended various English tutorings in the past, I can confidently say that none has been more effective in improving my essay writing skills than this masterclass. Not only does Jessica give specific tips for essay writing (instead of just throwing at you general structures like PEEL), but she also provides multiple examples (both exemplars and B-range responses to identify do's and don'ts). Best of all, You get to work at your own pace and if you need any revision, you can always watch the videos again. I would 100% recommend this masterclass to anyone who is struggling with essay writing skills.

Jess' program has been amazing in improving my English. Throughout my time with this program, I have realised that improvements within English essay writing were founded on the fundamentals rather than minor changes in vocabulary choices. In offering a skills-based approach, I found the masterclass to be more beneficial as my school teacher had neglected these skills as she prioritised learning about the contents of each prescribed text instead. I would definitely recommend the masterclass to students who have not seen any significant improvements when relying solely on feedback from their school teachers.
